Magic Squares
A special arrangement of whole numbers, put into a square grid with the sums of its numbers in each row, each column and both main diagonals being the same, makes a magic square. The earliest record of magic squares is from China from about 2200 BC.
During the workshop we will discover different types of magic squares and their history. You will hear about the magic number and how to calculate it. We will show you a trick how to create in a few steps a ’birthday magic square’. At the end of the workshop you can even experience how fast and how complicated Sudoku puzzles can you solve. Maybe even in 3 or 4 dimensions?
